Gnelle has manned this counter for many years. Open for breakfast and early lunch, there is usually a group of the grizzled regulars who come in to drink some coffee and shoot the breeze. An amazingly efficient woman named Gnelle runs this counter almost single-handedly, refilling coffee and dispensing country wisdom with a sharp tongue.
I recommend bacon (or sausage), grits, eggs, and whole wheat toast. You should also try the BLT, or the Eckerd "World Famous" hot dog.
Also, be sure to pick up an Andes mint next to the register when you pay. You'll leave with a full stomach and minty-fresh breath.
