I have taken my shih tzu to several groomers before, they did very good jobs grooming him, but when I took him to Dog Gone Gorgeous, they called me after 3 hours and told me they could only bathe him. He was too hyper for them to be able to give him any kind of cut. Actually told me he needed to be on some kind of drug to calm him down. This has never happened at any other groomer. I thought they would be fantastic because they came highly recommended. If I were a groomer, I think I would be embarrased to tell a client that I couldn't groom a dog.
I love Mary Lynne! She is amazing and so patient. My dog hates water and gets very nervous in strange places. She takes such good care of him and makes sure he has the best time there. And, when he is done, he looks so handsome in his neckerchief. I would definitely recommend Dog Gone Gorgeous to anyone!
I just got back from my first visit to this groomer and I would highly recommend it. I have an 11lb Pomeranian who can be nervous around new people (after a bad incident with a kennel) and she had a great time here and really warmed up to the groomers. When I picked her up she was in a great mood and looked and smelled great! I like the fact that the dogs roam a bit behind the counter because cages tend to make dogs more nervous and stressed out. When my dog's hair grows back in I will be sure to give them repeat business.
The ladies are friendly and good at their jobs. The place is clean and I feel very comfortable leaving my dog there for grooming. They are very attentive to the health and well-being of their charges and use all healthy products. Because dogs are often free to roam, it is often chaotic. But it's a good chaos--feels like a scene from a Disney movie.
These ladies are the BEST! They are very focused on making sure the dogs are comfortable, happy and safe! As my previous dog got older and had numerous medical problems, they went out of their way to take care of her. And Ashley loved going there, as does my new dog. When she went in for her first visit, they have a special routine to help puppies with this first groomer experience so that they are not afraid. Lacie has been going there a year and looks forward to her monthly visit. Asheville is so luck to have Dog Gone Gorgeous!
