Volunteer Docents Needed at the Asheville Art Museum
Leading group tours as a docent is a rewarding and wonderful way to share your love of art with students, children and adults. The Education staff provides ongoing docent trainings, which include exclusive previews of new exhibitions and behind-the-scenes discussions with Museum curators and special guests. As a docent, you’ll also learn touring strategies, travel with other docents on field trips to studios and hands-on workshops and meet many interesting, fun people.
We welcome new docents throughout the year. For more information, contact Nancy Sokolove at 828.253.3227, ext. 120, or nsokolove@ashevilleart.org. While some of our docents have an arts background, many do not. We provide all of the training. The only pre-requisite is an enthusiasm for art!
