Quality Assurance Manager



Relocation to Charlottesville, VA is required and relocation assistance will be provided.



PLEASE NOTE: This position is for an evening shift between 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm M-F. Please do not apply unless you are willing to commit to these hours.



Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to provide overall direction to their Testing and QA staff. The QA Manager will be responsible for the development of performance standards and the assessment of staff performance against standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:



- Manages the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of test strategies, software and hardware test tools, and manual and automated test plans

- Monitors the development, maintenance, and upgrading of automated test scripts and manual test plans

- Oversees the analysis of test cases

- Ensures the provision of regular progress reports

- Ensures QA projects are completed on time and within budget

- Advises team regarding projects, tasks, and procedures

- Clear understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

- Has a strong familiarity with standard QA concepts, practices, and procedures

- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

- Performs a variety of complex tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.

- Manages hiring, firing, and job title change (promotion, demotion, lateral moves) of Test Engineers, Test Automation Engineers, and Lead Test Engineers

- Documents and delivers performance appraisals to Test Engineers, Test Automation Engineers, and Lead Test Engineers

- Manages budgets for Quality Assurance team salaries, bonuses, expenses, and equipment

- Signs contracts and timesheets for contractors and interns within his/her team

- Signs contracts with agencies who provide prospective employees to the QA department



**Please note: This is a evening shift position, working Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 12 pm.



Requirements:



Requires BS/BA degree with at least 10 years relevant experience in Software Quality Assurance and leadership, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or MS in computer software or hardware preferred

- Certifications in software quality assurance preferred

- Professional experience as a software Test Engineer preferred

- Professional experience in the casino industry preferred

- Professional experience with VGT products preferred

- Must be able to obtain a gaming license

- Understands electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

- Understands the process of web page design and implementation

- Familiar with Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts

- Can interact professionally with customers in casino environments

- Must be able to travel on company business, including having a valid driver’s license

- Must be able to lift 40 pounds off of the floor, transport 10 feet, and place on a table top

- Must be able to use a screwdriver to remove or install a PC into a VGT Player Terminal
