With a portfolio of products built on a common visualization platform, we’re looking for an experienced, driven software engineer that can take our products to new heights.



Responsibilities:



- Create elegant designs that stand the test of time

- Help define new features and products

- Optimize and debug code

- Implement and deliver quality, tested code on time

- Manage builds and product releases

- Lead and mentor our developers

- Develop key technical specifications



Required Qualifications:



- 3+ years of desktop/applet Java programming experience

- 7+ years of software development experience

- Solid understanding of Swing

- Intuitive understanding of object-oriented architecture

- Full lifecycle software development experience including designing, programming, testing, deploying and maintaining commercial software across several release cycles

- Exceptional problem solving and attention to detail

- Strong motivation and ability to work independently



Desired Qualifications:



- AWT Java 1.1 development experience

- Custom Swing component development experience

- Web application development experience (J2EE, ASP.Net, PHP, etc)

- Understanding of test-driven and agile development methodologies

- User interface design and usability design experience



Telecommuting is possible, though local candidates and candidates willing to relocate to Asheville, NC are preferred.
