Blog Writer Wanted

Asheville, NC • 08/29/2007

We are looking for an automotive journalist, to go into local dealerships,

test drive a vehicle, and write a brief review about your opinion and

pricing information that you collected at the dealership. The review will

be in form of a 'blog'. A blog is a casual laid back way of writing.

Regardless, for this position you need to have excellent written

communication skills, have a sense of humor, be informative, and put a

little about yourself in your blog entries.

You'll be compensated $30 for each published blog entry. The average blog

is 150-350 words. We are looking for a relationship with automotive

journalists, who are interested in publishing at least 5 blogs per month.

You'll be compensated monthly. As an interview, we are asking all

candidates to submit a sample of their writing. Here are the guidelines

for the submission:

* The blog should be between 150-350 words.

* It should be about 'new 2007 or 2008' Model, that you've test driven.

* The blog entry should have a Headline Title, which contains the word "Drive"

(or some iteration of the word 'drive' e.g. driving, driven, etc.) and the

Model name (e.g. Mustang, Accord).

For example: Very simply, your blog title about a Ford Explorer could be:

'My Test Drive of a 2007 Ford Explorer'

* Answer these 4 Questions (ideally in 4 mini-paragraphs) in this order.

1) At which dealership did you test drive the vehicle? When you initially saw

the vehicle and 'got in' for the first time, What immediately strikes you

about the vehicle? What about after driving it for a few miles?

2) What are the selling points of the model? (e.g. How does the model compare

to other vehicles in its class? This could be according you or the dealership/

manufacture.)

3) What is this Model (or Model Trim) selling for in your area? Is it in high

or low demand? Is there a high supply (lots of available models) at the

dealership you visited? (e.g. You can reference above invoice price or

whatever makes sense to you...What is the current marketing, regional sales

conditions of the model? )

4) Tell other consumers, based on your test drive experience --- what is your

opinion of the vehicle? What should they know when shopping for this vehicle,

compared to its competitors?

Please be advised that only candidates who submit sample blogs per this

outline will be considered. Please submit your sample blog via email (not

as an attachment) and our editors will contact if we would like to proceed.
