1) Responsible for specifying, modifying and installing pharmaceutical equipment used in the RF sealing production of IV solution bags.
2) Develop and establish new / changed processes for RF sealing of plastic sheeting.
3) Design and develop improvements of equipment used for RF sealing of plastic sheeting.
4) Design of dies and press assemblies for RF sealing equipment.
5) Required to understand the requirements of the production area, develop a vendor requirements definition, select a vendor, purchase, and install the production equipment.
6) While working with a quality representative and within FDA guidelines, they will need to validate and startup the production equipment.
7) Required to analyze existing equipment and recommend improvements that will improve performance, reduce scrap and/or improve efficiency and safety.
8) Perform basic mechanical design and working with designers and/or maintenance personnel, implement improvements and solutions.
9) Required to oversee and/or supervise the work of vendors, maintenance and production personnel for a given project.
10) Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be self-motivated and able to work alone or in a team setting comprised of mechanics, machine operators and other engineers.
11) Ability to understand and manage all financial aspects of a project such as capital expenditures and expense related costs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) BS in Mechanical Engineering, with 3 - 5 years related practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
2) 1 3 years practical experience in RF sealing of plastic material
3) Ability to manage routine small projects without assistance.
4) Expected to make suggestions on improvements based on recent technical knowledge.
5) Must be familiar with various types of blueprints (machined parts, machine assemblies, facility layouts and electrical schematics).
6) Candidate should have practical mechanical design experience, with CAD experience preferred, 3D design experience a plus.
7) Able to contribute to cost estimating of major capital budget items and the spending of approved project funds.
8) Contribute to the planning and development process of manufacturing equipment, either on a small project or a defined piece of a larger project.
9) Familiar with various types of blueprints (machined parts, machine assemblies, facility layouts and electrical schematics).
10) Strong leadership, organization, communication and project management skills.
Optional
11) Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project or related software.
12) Controls experience with PLCs, Servos and operator interface packages.
13) Safety and/or ergonomic machine design.
14) Experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing Practices and Six Sigma approaches.
